Meet Judge Price:

Judge Dale Price was born and raised in Sylacauga and has spent his entire life rooted in Talladega County values. A 1986 graduate of Sylacauga High School, he went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in history from Huntingdon College and his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law.

For nearly 30 years, Judge Price practiced law in Sylacauga and throughout Talladega County, building a reputation for fairness, honesty, and a deep respect for the law. In January 2024, Governor Kay Ivey appointed him District Judge for Talladega County, Place 2, where he also serves as the presiding Juvenile Court Judge.

Leadership in the Courtroom and Beyond

Throughout his career, Judge Price has been actively involved in strengthening the community he calls home. His service includes:

  • Long-time member and two-time president of the Sylacauga Civitan Club, known for building ramps for those in need and the annual Vidalia Onion fundraiser

  • Volunteer associate member of the Heritage South Credit Union Board of Directors

  • Member and past-president of the Talladega County Bar Association, elected by colleagues to serve three consecutive terms on the Grievance Committee

  • Member and past-president of the Leadership Sylacauga Alumni Association

  • Member of the Talladega County DHR Quality Assurance Committee

  • Past member of the Arc of South Talladega County and the Arc of Alabama Boards of Directors

  • Member of the SAFE Board of Directors

He has also provided extensive pro bono legal work for the B.B. Comer Library Foundation, RhizoKids International, SAFE, and many individuals and charitable organizations.

Protecting Children. Strengthening Families.

As Juvenile Court Judge, Judge Price has made child welfare his top priority. He is currently leading the effort to create a juvenile treatment court — a program designed to preserve families or reunite them when substance abuse or mental health issues put children at risk.

“My top priority is the welfare of our society’s most vulnerable — abused and neglected children. Sometimes, the best way to help a child is to help the parent be a better parent.”

Judge Price believes that when families can safely stay together, the entire community benefits — emotionally, socially, and financially.

Family & Faith

Judge Price is the son of the late Roger and Pat Price of Childersburg. He is married to Amy Shipley of Southaven, Mississippi, and together they are the proud parents of Lily Frances and Catherine Price.
